In India, one of the most important animals is the elephant. Elephants appear in lots of Indian art work. One Hindu god, Lord Ganesha, has the head of an elephant and the body of a human. So for your art lesson today, I wonder if you could try to draw an elephant. Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to do it. This might be tricky, so it’s ok if you need a few attempts to get it right! We’d love to see any artwork that you produce – send it to us on twitter @hillstoneps.

In PE this half term we have been dancing! This is a perfect time to start to learn some Indian dance moves. Bhangra is a type of music that comes from the Punjab region of India. Watch the video and try to join in with some of the dance moves!

This weekend millions of Hindus and Sikhs around the world will be celebrating Diwali. In school you had a go at creating some Diwa lamps. Have a watch of this video below and see whether you can create another Diwali craft.

In your clarinet or trumpet lessons, you will be learning about rhythm. Watch this lesson from Oak National Academy on understanding pulse and rhythm. Be prepared to join in with some activities, including some singing.
Hillstone Primary School is producing a virtual Christmas Nativity. Each year group will have a song to learn and Mr Farr will film each class in the first week of December. I have attached a copy of the lyrics and the recording of the song to give you some idea of the tone and pitch.

Hi Kacey, that’s great to hear – well done!
You can get an adult to help you email it across to year4@hillstone.org.uk so we can see it privately.
I think the tools Miss Aluriya used are pencils and water colour paint. I really like the picture and think it’s an elephant.
Well done Neve! It is an elephant! Yes, I used a pencil to make my outline first and then drew over it with a black fineliner to make it stand out. Then, I used some watercolours and I felt like going with a rainbow theme to represent the vibrant colours of India. Really impressed Neve, so well done!
Love the song
Glad you enjoyed it Logan!
