Monday- History

We have learnt all about Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth 1st and Queen Elizabeth 2nd. This week we are going to be creating a timeline. Before we create our timeline watch the video below of Miss Langford to remind you of how to put dates in order and then how to transfer them onto a timeline.

Now it’s time for you to create a Queen timeline. The dates that each lady became Queen are shown below:

Queen Victoria- 1837

Queen Elizabeth 2nd-  1952

Queen Elizabeth 1st– 1558

You are now going to create a timeline for events that have happened in your life. Watch the video below to see Miss Langford creating her own timeline.

Think of 4 or 5 important things that have happened in your life. Ask your grown up what year they happened in. Finally, place the dates and events on a timeline in the correct order! Don’t forget to send us your work on the cloud.

Tuesday: Lesson One- Hillstone Lifeskills

Click the picture below to watch today’s video.

Read the statements below about owls. Some of the statements are true and some of the statements are false. Using the tips from the video, can you decide which statements are true? Remember to ask an adult if you are unsure!

If you have time, you may like to create your own ‘Wise Owl’ like the owl from the video. There are some pictures below for inspiration. Alternatively, you could draw a picture in your sketch book.

Tuesday: Lesson Two- PE

Below are some activities that you may like to try in today’s PE lesson. Alternatively, follow this link to complete a workout with Joe Wicks or visit Coach’s PE page for more ideas.

Dance

Why not take part in this dance video from the Kidz Bop Kids? It is super fun and jam-packed full of high energy routines!

Follow this link to re-tell the story of ‘the Enormous Turnip’ through dance moves. This is the first of three parts. If you enjoy it, you could complete the next two parts this week or during half term? Your grown will need to set up an account to access this resource but this is quick and free to do.

Wednesday: Design Technology

Our design technology task this term is to create a cushion for the Queen’s corgi. Hopefully, we will be able to sew a cushion for the Corgi when we are back at school. Your task today, is to create a design for your cushion. You should include what materials you will use and a sketch of what your cushion will look like. Below is a picture of the coloured felt that we have available to choose from.

See the video below of Miss Langford to find out more about this activity and to see the other resources that you will need.

Thursday: Lesson One- Hillstone Lifeskills

I felt really sorry for the Snawk in the story! Can you create a list or a poster for the Slodges explaining what they could have done differently? At Hillstone, we include everybody regardless of their differences and forgive others for making mistakes. Finally, can you create a picture, like the one at the end of the book, but this time ensure that the Snawk is included in it?

Thursday: Lesson Two- Art

I found our story from English ‘The Queen’s Knickers’ absolutely hilarious! I can’t believe the Queen has all of those knickers for different occasions. I did spot a problem though… she does not have a pair of lockdown knickers! This afternoon, it is your task to design a pair of knickers for the Queen that are perfect for lockdown! You will need to sketch your outline for your knickers first. Remember that the Queen is a very stylish lady! Make your knickers as beautiful as possible. You could use coloured pencils, felt tips, collage, paint or any other resources that you have at home! You could also write some labels around the edge. Below are some pictures of knickers that have been decorated by other children to give you some inspiration.  Please show us your completed art work by uploading it to the cloud.

Friday: Lesson One- PE

Below are some activities that you may like to try in today’s PE lesson. Alternatively, follow this link to complete a workout with Joe Wicks or visit Coach’s PE page for more ideas.

Either: bottle tops, old coins or buttons.

PVA glue

Instructions:

Cut out two strips of card and fold them in half.

Decorate your cardboard strips in any way you wish.

See pictures below to see how to attach your bottle lids, buttons or coins.

Why not end the week by joining in with one of our favourite assembly songs? You could play your castanets  as you sing along.

We have a drama video for you here from Bhav. You can access this at any time – you might want to try it over the half term holidays if you have a spare 30 minutes.
