Monday- History

Today, we are going to go back in time to find out about two other Queens. You are going to be creating your own information wheel with key facts about Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. Watch the video below to find out how to complete this activity.

Below you will find some questions about each Queen. Remember, you do not need to answer all of the questions. They are there to give you ideas of facts that you may like to include in your wheel.

Queen Elizabeth I

Watch the video below all about Queen Elizabeth I. See if you can write a fact about each of the questions below. You may want to make notes in rough first like I did and then write them up neatly on your information wheel.

How many years ago did she become Queen?

Was she married? If she was, who was she married to?

Did she have any children?

Who was her Dad?

How many years was she Queen for?

Queen Victoria

Watch the video below all about Queen Victoria. See if you can write a fact about each of the questions below. You may want to make notes in rough first like I did and then write them up neatly on your information wheel.

How many years ago did she become Queen?

How long was she Queen for?

Who did she marry?

How many children did she have?

How many grandchildren did she have?

Why did Victoria dress in black?

How many grandchildren does she have?

Tuesday: Lesson One- Hillstone Lifeskills

Today, we are going to be learning to celebrate our differences by giving compliments to others. Listen to Miss Langford reading ‘Naked Trevor’ below.

I absolutely love that story! My favourite part is when the other animals give Trevor compliments about his new outfit. This week I have been giving compliments to the people that I live with. You can do this in a variety of different ways. I wanted to make it really exciting so I wrote some notes for my family and hid them around my house for them to find. Alternatively, you could just say your compliments to your family members. I’d love to hear some of the compliments that you give. Perhaps you could write them down and upload them to the cloud?

Tuesday: Lesson Two- PE

Below are some ideas of different PE activities that you could do this afternoon. Alternatively, visit Coach’s PE page for more ideas!

Wednesday: Lesson Two- Hillstone Lifeskills

Miss Langford is going to be reading you a story called ‘Kaya’s Heart Song’ today. Sit comfortably and listen carefully.

That was such a lovely story and I am so glad that Kaya found her heart song. It is so important for everyone to find an activity that they enjoy. When we are taking part in a calm activity that we enjoy, our mind is at peace. This afternoon, spend some time completing an activity that makes your mind peaceful. Below are some examples:

Yoga

Colouring

Reading

Drawing

Painting

Cooking

Thursday- Art

When Elizabeth I was Queen there were no cameras. Instead, somebody would paint your picture. This is called painting a portrait. There are some examples of Queen Elizabeth I’s portraits below.

Today, you are going to be creating a portrait of either yourself or a member of your family. If you are going to create a portrait of yourself, you will either need a mirror or a photograph of yourself. If you are going to create a portrait of somebody else then you could either ask them to sit in front of you while you complete their portrait or use a photograph of them instead. You will need to sketch your portrait first and then you can either paint it or use coloured pencils to decorate. Below is a video that will give you some tips for how to create a portrait using a photograph.

We would love to see your completed portraits so please upload them to the cloud for a Marvellous Me!
