Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps.   13. I have worked with my mom to make one of my writing longer and more descriptive. I even sent you a picture of Barney too.. He really is the best bear.

    1. A lovely picture of you and Barney.
      To improve your writing even more you could try and use more show not tell. Eg you told me cuddling Barney makes you smile. How could you say that using show not tell?

        1. There are three activities:-
          Calculating Perimeter
          Calculating Perimeter FINAL is an explanation power point that you can download and go through.
          Yr 5 Calculating Perimeter
          In the first one (Calculating Perimeter) you count the squares around the outside of the shape as we have been doing before and add them up.
          Then it’s the same but just adding the numbers instead. Make sure you watch the video and even go back and watch the videos from earlier on in the week.
          Then the final one (yr 5 Calculating Perimeter) has shapes that have missing values for at least one of the sides which you need to have watch the previous videos and power points to be able to work out.

  17. Good morning sorry I’ve not been online I’ve been working with my private tutor. I have printed some of the previous work. When completed my mom will upload them. I have a private tutor at 12:00 today. then I will check out Fridays task .

  19. I’ve finishe reading im going to have snack and then move onto maths.I’ve had a look at maths and it looks quite easy and short. And i want to go back to school I miss it sooooo much!

    2. There is the link to coaches page (P.E. from home) at the top of the page and then if all else fails there’s Joe Wicks. Just got to try and keep yourself active until we get back in school where we can do full P.E. sessions.

  42. I have done the morning task and I am moving on to the maths. I was so happy to see my poster! I like the home learning but i miss you all.
