Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps. Make sure you leave a comment every day so we know you’re here (each day’s comments section will be used to take a register). Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!
Have you commented to say you are here?

Now try these activities below.
Paper Halving
In how many different ways can you halve an A4 sheet of paper?
You might start off with something like these two, for example:
Have a good explore and see what different ways you can find. Don’t be afraid to be creative!
How many ways can you put your paper into thirds?
Boogie Fractions
Boogie down with newspaper fractions.
Turn the music up! Start out with a full paper as the dance floor, then fold down to one half. Continue folding the paper into smaller and smaller dance floors. What’s the smallest fraction can you get to? Send in a picture of how creative you can get to try to stay on the paper.
Have a fraction picnic
Using a variety of food images cut from magazines or printed out from the Internet, plan a picnic and choose the food they want to bring along. Using a ruler and scissors, cut portions of their food choices and glue them to a paper plate. Finally, label each item with the fraction name. Bon appรฉtit!

I have have read the story. I am doing the writing now.
Hi Jasmine! What did you think of the story in comparison to Sadko?
I prefer Sadko because there werent so many off with his heads and Sadko was longer.
There are more off with your heads because the Tsar is much meaner I think, but I can see your point.
