Year 5 Thursday 19th November

Our Year 5 Daily Timetable Outline

Watch today’s welcome video here!

Good morning Year 5! Hope you’re keeping safe and well. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log on to virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday and we ask that you leave us a comment (questions or messages) you have for your teacher. These will be answered daily so don’t hesitate to comment should you need any support or just want to check-in. Any work that you do, remember to tweet it @hillstoneps. Make sure you leave a comment every day so we know you’re here. Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!

9:00-9:10

Let’s start the day off with some early morning work! So, put your thinking hats on Year 5. Below is a picture, look carefully at the picture and answer the questions in the section below that. Just give it a good go. Again, if you need any support, please comment below. Make sure you have left a comment to let us know you’re here too!

Today we will be planning a recount of a personal emotional event that has happened to you (remember we started this in the lesson on Tuesday). Think of something that happened to you where lots of emotions came to the fore. We will begin by planning what happened and the associated emotions. You can brainstorm your ideas or make bullet points. Below are a couple of examples:-

I will read the beginning of the Matchbox Diary again so you can remember the story so far and sense the emotion as the great granddad retells extracts from his matchbox diary to his great grand-daughter.

Now begin to plan your event.

Each day we will have a different topic area for our afternoon sessions.

Art

Get a piece of plain paper ready, watch the video and follow the instructions step by step to produce your own scaled drawing of a human body. Remember to pause after each section and check to make sure you’ve done it correctly.

Now try using this technique to draw the human body in different shape positions using these mannequin pictures below.

    1. Hey there Bilal nice to hear from you.
I’m sorry though we won’t be able to do a zoom call.
You’ll have to make do with seeing me on the videos and wait till we get back to school to see your friends.

    1. Hi Scarlett
I think I’m learning how to do the replies better now. I was doing it wrong all along.
      But I’m getting better.
Hope you are enjoying the work, or at least working hard.

  1. Hi everyone
Once you have written your plan for your emotional event keep them until tomorrow as we will be using them to do our write up after I’ve given you further instructions tomorrow.
