Year 5 Thursday 7th January

Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps. Make sure you leave a comment every day so we know you’re here (each day’s comments section will be used to take a register). Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!

Fantastic news! You can now send your work to us for feedback by uploading it here. Please make sure that you have your name on each piece of work that you submit. Additionally, if you have any questions that you’d prefer to ask your teacher privately, send them to year5@hillstone.org.uk

A special mention goes to Eli Reading for completing and uploading a host of pieces of work.

Using the notes that you have made, try to add parenthesis to some of your sentences. Remember, you can add extra detail or make your sentence more clear.

    1. Hi,
As long as he tried his best, that all we ask. Please let him know that we are impressed with his effort and also thank you for supporting his education at home.

  2. Jasmine has been working hard and has completed all morning work by herself. I will upload it later as am currently teaching my own class.

    1. You can still do a mood board by either drawing the pictures yourself (will take time though) or doing it on your computer/ tablet in Powerpoint where you can cut and paste the images.

  3. Hi I have just completed my AR test am I allowed to use my own Jeff Kinney and David Walliams books for AR and do the tests for them if they have them?

    1. I don’t know for sure but I’m going to say yes for now if it means that you will be reading and they are books that you will enjoy and if there is a test for them then I don’t see why not.

  4. Good morning everyone! I’m working with the children who are still in school at the moment, but it was great to see all your comments yesterday evening. Stay safe and keep up the good work 🙂
