Year 5 Wednesday 13th January

Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps. Make sure you leave a comment every day so we know you’re here (each day’s comments section will be used to take a register). Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!

Fantastic news! You can now send your work to us for feedback by uploading it here. Please make sure that you have your name on each piece of work that you submit. Additionally, if you have any questions that you’d prefer to ask your teacher privately, send them to year5@hillstone.org.uk

A special mention goes to Eli Reading for brilliant work yesterday.

Also shout outs to these children for uploading their completed pieces of work:- Josh Leech, Scarlett Thornton, Elliot Kiely, Amari Blissett, Jake Bullock and Jasmine Holdsworth.

Your Task

After watching these videos write the answers to the following questions and upload them.

  1. If you never ever saw pain and suffering how would this influence your view of life? (Explain as fully as you can).
  2. If you had the power what would you do to eliminate pain and suffering from the world?
  3. If the cost of ultimate knowledge and wisdom was having to give up your family and possessions would you be willing to pay the price? (Explain why or why not).
  4. Self control is really important as is facing our inner demons (things that we’re afraid of/ worried about). Think about ways we can overcome our fears such as [talking to an adult, prayer, meditation, face your fears with the support of others / with the correct information and knowledge and any others you can think of].
