Year 5 Wednesday 20th January

Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps. Make sure you leave a comment every day so we know you’re here (each day’s comments section will be used to take a register). Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!

Fantastic news! You can now send your work to us for feedback by uploading it here. Please make sure that you have your name on each piece of work that you submit. Additionally, if you have any questions that you’d prefer to ask your teacher privately, send them to year5@hillstone.org.uk

  1. I have uploaded Jasmine’s work. I hope you are receiving Jasmine’s work? I am wondering because it says children will get feedback and Jasmine has received none since the start of online learning. I was wondering if this is because you are not receiving her work or whether it is that no feedback is given. I know schools are working in different ways. Jasmine just keeps asking if Mr. K has seen her work that’s all. Thanks for all your help.

    1. Sorry about that Mr K is in school and we are looking after the virtual school from home. I have seen Jasmine’s work you sent some this morning and then a few minutes ago as well. I try to do marvelous Me’s for the children who post their work but realise I wasn’t able to do it for 5K as I was only registered to do 5U but have sorted that this morning so you should receive notification of Jasmine’s work which has been received and we do appreciate all the hard work that she and yourselves are putting in. Also Mr Uddin and I swap doing the comments at about 12.30pm so depending on when you send the work we may have been thinking the other has commented on it already (sorry for the misunderstanding).

      1. No worries at all Mr Campbell. As long as you are getting the work that’s fine. Just wondered if it was coming through or not. Thanks for all you help and support.

    2. Well done on the reading and the maths (division), I’ve also seen the story board of the Sadko story from yesterday that was uploaded this morning. The R.E. was meant to be written in your own words though as it looks like you’ve used pices of a story about the Buddha. But all in all great stuff.

    1. I can read most of it Kaycee. But as with yesterday you need to check your answers when you’ve finished as in the second video by doing the inverse and multiplying your answer to see if you get back to the original number. Check this question for example (585 divided by 5=)
