Year 6 Thursday 26th November

Good morning Year 6 and happy Thursday.

Welcome to our virtual page. We would like you to log in every day to access your learning.  As we are all isolating, we will maintain a routine which is as close as possible to a normal school day.  New lessons will be uploaded every day and we are all available in the comments section should you require any support.

We hope you enjoy today’s lessons.  Please stay safe.

From Miss Kinsman, Mrs Bridges and Mrs Gillett.

Today’s timetable.

9:00-9:15

Good morning. Please say hello in the comments section below so we can mark you in on our registers. Settle in to the day by reading some of the extracts from The Happy News (images below) before writing begins.

Some things to think about this morning…

9:15-10:15

Writing

Thank you for all the writing sent in yesterday; here’s some feedback for you:

Today is our final writing lesson about Macbeth (but we are starting another brilliant Shakespeare play next week) and the video is a long one, but mainly because a lot of it is me telling you the rest of the story. Do make sure to complete the writing task first before enjoying finding out how this brilliant tale concludes!

If you usually use a sheet for writing with prompt questions on, here is today’s:

Feedback from yesterday: I loved reading your analysis of the characters in Macbeth. You clearly know them so well and are able to find suitable evidence to back up your opinions. Going forwards, make sure you are now comparing characters.

Watch the video below for today’s lesson.

Pause the video each time you are asked to complete a task and also pause and re-watch any time you need to.

If you need, or would like, to listen to the retelling of Othello, the clips are below.

Miss Hodgkinson’s group: Complete the comprehension below and then read one of the books you were provided with on Friday, or click on the link below to choose a different text.

As you know, our song for this year’s virtual nativity is Love Shone Down. Below you will find the lyrics and the audio file for you to sing along to and learn the words. Please make sure you spend time doing this as Mr Farr will be recording us when we are back in school.

You sounded so lovely when we practised in the hall, so we cannot wait to hear you singing again!

Find a cosy space at home, then sit back and relax whilst listening to Miss Kinsman read the second half of a retelling of Twelfth Night.

I have checked my document and I have the right answers. I have re-uploaded it to the website. Can you refresh your page and see if it the same as what you saw earlier or different?
      Miss Kinsman

      1. Hi Miss Kinsman – It is showing a different document now (thank you) Mitch still thinks the answer to the 1st green question is wrong though. He thinks it should be 1 2/3 rather than 2

        1. Yes, please, Tabitha. If you are up-to-date with the Banquo ghost narrative, then you are writing the final part of it today, finishing with Banquo’s murder.

          1. Have you watched my video all the way to the end? Use the model bars that I used and it should help. If not – leave another comment and I will try and help.
