New learning will be available each weekday and we ask that you leave us a comment (questions or messages) you have for your teacher. These will be answered daily so don’t hesitate to comment should you need any support or just want to check-in. Any work that you do, remember to tweet it @hillstoneps.

Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!

Good News!
We now have a place that you can send your work to us. When you finish a lesson, please take a photo of what you have done and submit it here. Please make sure your name is written clearly somewhere on the photo.

You were using ‘a’ and ‘an’ correctly in your work yesterday. Well done. When looking at the pictures yesterday, you were commenting on the things that you saw but these pictures were so wonderfully strange that there was far more that you could have described about them. These are images that you would never normally see. If you saw a picture like this in real life, how would you describe it to someone?

Today we are heading back to The Oak Academy page to complete some work on fronted adverbials. You will be exploring why they are useful and then having a go at using them. You will need a pencil and paper ready for this lesson. I hope that you enjoy it. This is going to really help you with your work for the rest of this week and next week.

Yesterday, you were able to accurately read the scales in 10s and most of you in 20s too. Well done for using your timestables knowledge to read the scales with precision.

Today, we are continuing to explore mass. We will be looking at reading scales today in kg and g. You will need to remember how to convert kg and g to just grams for the challenge task!

Any questions, just pop into the comment box and we will help you. Enjoy!

Topic

Global Alliance to End Plastic Waste - Advanced Science News

Today in topic we are going to be thinking about single use plastics and how we could use less of them. We will think about what could be done and then make our own plastic pledge. Following this, we will be keeping a ‘plastic diary’ over the next week so that we can really see how much we are using. Be honest with these and bring them into school with you when you return and give them to your teacher. We will be displaying these in the classroom so make sure you keep them neat.

Download today’s lesson board to give you more information and guidance for your task.

    1. Good morning. Will Ellie not be in school on Friday then? She could always do it from home. I will ask Miss Thornton to upload the lesson to the virtual school.

      1. Ellie tested positive for covid on Monday so she needs to isolate now till 26th March so she will be off for another week I don’t want her to miss out on anything and fall behind so if there’s work that can still be uploaded for her that will be great

        1. Oh no. I hope she isn’t feeling too poorly with it. There will be a page up for Friday and then for the following week, it will be a weekly page of activities to do. Miss Young will be in charge of that and will be able to support you in any way that you need.
