Week beginning Monday 15th March-Year 1

If your child is required to isolate or is unable to attend school for an extended period of time, please call the office on 0121 675 3573 and arrange a telephone meeting with Mrs King or Miss Young to discuss your child’s learning.

Hello and welcome to year 1’s virtual school! Please feel free to explore the resources available here to either further support your child’s learning at home or as a remote learning tool if your child is required to isolate. You will find learning for both English and maths that runs alongside what we are teaching in school for this half term, as well as some information about our current topic.

  1. Good morning Mrs King, Miss Young and Mrs Driver. I hope you have a happy day. I’m looking forward to all the work on virtual school.

      1. Tears yesterday and again this morning. Ella isn’t enjoying home school. She has however been working really well from a maths workbook I have and that makes it easier for me to get work done so I will submit at some point today but it’s not from virtual school its from work books we have brought.

        1. We totally understand how difficult this is for everyone and the children are finding it tough having just got back into the swing of things at school. At this stage, you are doing just the right thing. Do not worry.
Let us know if we can be of any help whatsoever, that’s why we are here!

          1. Thanks for understanding! I will still send her work in that she completes as she is working really hard this afternoon. Thanks again.

    1. Hi there. If you click on Year 1 Virtual school then click on ‘Today’s Lessons’. This takes you to a page which starts with Happy Tuesday. The lessons for today are on this page. Get back in touch if you are still having problems.

    1. Hi Talia, Mrs Driver here. I know you had a go at the Party Invitation yesterday, so today I have a special activity just for you. Using the Pirate word map, cut up the words and pictures and lay them face down on the table. Shuffle them around and then pick 2. Try to make a sentence using both of the words – it can be a silly sentence if you like but must have a capital letter and a full stop. If you want a bigger challenge, choose THREE words to try to put in the same sentence!

  2. Good Morning children!
I hope you are enjoying the lessons at home.

Remember if you need any help please ask one of the teachers. We are here to help.

    Miss Ijaz
