Your edited and improved poems yesterday were great! You all thought of relevant expanded noun phrases to add detail to the simple poems. Well done.

Be careful of simple spelling mistakes. Always remember your RWI sounds and keep a check on those year 1 and 2 key words.

Today we will be visiting the Bournville BookFest to enjoy the fantastic words of Michael Rosen and my all time favourite poet Benjamin Zephaniah. Enjoy the videos and take part in the activities. The sheets are below as PDF. I’m going to draw along with Talking Turkey!

Guided Reading

Short TED Talk Video: “The secret to giving great feedback ...

There were some great story boards yesterday! Even thought the focus of this lesson is reading, you must make sure that you are punctuation your sentences correctly using a capital letter to start with and a full stop to end with.

The Rhythm of the Rain: Amazon.co.uk: Baker-Smith, Grahame, Baker-Smith, Grahame: 9781787410145: Books

Listen to the story again. Today we are going to continue to create a story board for the main events that happen from where the jar of water enters the ocean, up until the end of the story.

Listen to the story again and then download the boards for today and complete the task

Download the lesson and complete the task. This is continuing on with what you were doing yesterday.

Topic

Image result for the water cycle

Today in topic we are going to be continuing with our learning about the water cycle. We are going to use our knowledge from our last topic lesson where we became fully immersed in the ‘Now Press Play’ activity, where we labelled the diagram and learnt new scientific words and also our knowledge from the story ‘The Rhythm of the Rain’. All of this is going to help us with today’s task.

Today, we are going to create our own story. We are going to pretend that we are water droplets travelling through the water cycle. This only needs to be a short story, BUT it does need to include all of the main parts of the water cycle and you need to use the scientific vocabulary that we learnt last lesson.

Download today’s lesson board to give you more information and guidance for your task.

Watch me model the first part of my story to you.

Its time to move! What could you do today to be active? You could go on a walk, go for a run, ride your bike or dance to your favourite song. If you are struggling for sometime fun to do, click here for one of coaches fun activities.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the story!

For World Book Day, Mr Bennett will read a beautiful book called A Child of Books all about the adventures books will take you on. Enjoy.

We hope that you enjoyed today’s lessons, we look forward to seeing all of your work. Have a relaxing evening and we will see you tomorrow.
