Good morning Year 5! Welcome to all 5U and 5K pupils. Thank you for coming on to virtual school today. We would like you to log into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day during the next two weeks. New learning will be available each weekday. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any support or just want to check-in. Remember to tweet your work @hillstoneps. Physical Education

There are a few options for your PE sessions.

  1. Follow along with Joe Wicks, on his YouTube channel here, where he will be back to doing live workouts every morning at 9am. You can catch up with these in the afternoon, or shift your day around so you start the day this way and follow along live.
  2. Check out the activities on Coach’s PE From Home page here and choose one (or more!) to complete.
  3. Go for some exercise outdoors, whether it’s a walk, a jog, a run or something else.
  4. Choose an activity from Youth Sports Trust. You can find a list of fun activities here.

  1. I have to use my sisters iPad but I have been doing my work but I will use the laptop tomorrow.i have learnt some Spanish from my sister who studies at a nearby school and grasioca means funny.

      The sequence is asking you to go up in 7ths. So the first number would be 3 1/7, then 3 2/7. then 3 3/7…. Can you fill in the boxes and see what the last number is in the sequence.

    1. Hi Sian.
      First thing you need to is find out if the sequence is increasing or decreasing. If the fractions are increasing, then you know you are adding. If the fractions are decreasing, then you know you are subtracting.
      Once you have done that, you need to work out by how much they are increasing and decreasing by. If you look at the first sequence, you can see that the fraction are increasing. Yu have started with a fraction 2 2/3, and this has increased to 3 1/3. Between these 2 fraction there is 2/3 difference. Draw the fraction out, if it helps you. You will join sequence to the box that says add 2/3.
      Do the same for the rest. Let me know how you get on.

    1. Jude what exactly are you stuck on? The instructions are to use yesterday’s planning (4 topic areas about Russia, use a double page spread in your home learning books. Split that into quarters, then write persuasively about each section to get people to want to come to Russia (remembering to use parenthesis and relative clauses.
