We had some fantastic work yesterday. So well done if you sent yours in. These are just some that we would like to mention because of the great effort put into their work .
Well done Amelia-rose, Lacey R, Blake and Freddy!
All the maths and writing received yesterday was of a high standard and we can’t wait to see what you can do today!
Keep it coming and remember to put your name on so that we can give you a shout out tomorrow.
We would like you to log in into virtual school every day to access the learning. It is crucial that we maintain a routine that is as close as possible to a normal school day. New learning will be available each weekday and we ask that you leave us a comment (questions or messages) you have for your teacher. These will be answered daily so don’t hesitate to comment should you need any support or just want to check-in. Any work that you do, remember to tweet it @hillstoneps.
Most importantly, make sure to stay safe! Have a great day!
Remember to sign in by saying ‘Hi’ in the comments box.
Good News!
We now have a place that you can send your work to us. When you finish a lesson, please take a photo of what you have done and submit it here. Please make sure your name is written clearly somewhere on the photo.

Feedback from yesterday would be to keep an eye on capital letters. Use them for the proper nouns for people and place names. Also try and tell me why someone has done something. Why did the servant want to save the babies? What made him change his mind and save them? Keep up the quality work.

Feedback from yesterday is that the presentation of the work is great. It’s easy to see your working out and how you got to the answer. Keep that up!
Today, we are going to be finding the fraction of a number. We are going to be exploring different ways in order to see this visually. We will need to do some division again today, so we will be using our practical sharing techniques. There will be video clips for you to watch along the way which is going to help you.
Any questions, just pop into the comment box and we will help you. Enjoy!

Guided Reading
Today we will be looking for clues in the Roman myth ‘The man who cut down trees’ which explain to us why such terrible things happened to the character Erisychthon. To begin with there will be a video explaining the different parts of story for you to watch as I know it can be quite a complicated myth to follow. Then listen to the story again and watch the video on today’s task. There will be lots of questions for you to think about and a main task questions set at then end. I have included lots of the ideas that the children discussed in class to help with your work today.
If you found the myth quite difficult to follow, click the video below of Miss Thornton explaining what is happening throughout the story:
