Year 6 Friday 5th March 2021

Good morning Year 6 and happy Friday.

Welcome to our virtual page. We would like you to log in every day to access your learning. As we are now in a national lockdown, we will maintain a routine which is as close as possible to a normal school day.  New lessons will be uploaded every day and we are available in the comments section should you require any support.

We hope you enjoy today’s lessons.  Please stay safe.

From Miss Kinsman, Mrs Bridges and Mrs Gillett.

Watch the welcome message to see if you are this week’s Hillstone Star.

Today’s timetable.

9:00-9:15

Good morning. Please say hello in the comments section below so we can mark you in on our registers. Settle in to the day by reading an extract from one of my favourite books, and taking some time to think about it.

PE

There are a few options for your PE sessions, each day.

  1. Follow along with Joe Wicks, on his YouTube channel here, where he will be back to doing live workouts every morning at 9am. You can catch up with these in the afternoon, or shift your day around so you start the day this way and follow along live.
  2. Check out the activities on Coach’s PE From Home page here and choose one (or more!) to complete.
  3. Go for some exercise outdoors, whether it’s a walk, a jog, a run or something else.
  4. Choose an activity from Youth Sports Trust. You can find a list of fun activities here.

If you are able to, please take photos or videos of whichever activity you choose and upload to Twitter @hillstoneps (include your name and year group) so we can see what you are getting up to!

      1. I think creating jokes with these spellings is really tricky but you’re doing so well and they’re such good jokes too!
        P.S. Crying with joy!

  1. I put a comment on this morning around 10ish for Katelyn but not sure if I accidentally posted on wrong page as can’t see it now? Thank You

    1. Hi. I am sorry – there was a technical issue first thing but I can see the comment on the other page now. Please don’t worry (and tell Katelyn the same) about Katelyn completing all the work today and I am sorry to hear that she has been unwell. The most important thing is for her to rest, take care of herself and ensure she feels better. She has done a wonderful job on the virtual school and we are all really proud of her. She has put herself in a really good position for returning back to school, when she is well. Best wishes, Mrs Bridges

      1. Thank you, I will pass this message on. I have told her not to worry and that even some work is better than nothing each day especially whilst she hasn’t been well and with me working she does everything independently so she hasn’t much support and has persevered through and logged on every day. She is looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. Thank you for your understanding and kind words. I’m sure this will help Katelyn as she has been very stressed this week.

        1. You are absolutely right and she is such a trooper. We know how hard she works and how much effort she puts into everything, always with such a wonderful attitude too! She definitely deserves to have a little rest and take it easy so she can come back refreshed on Monday 🙂 Ah, it is very exciting indeed! And I hope it helps, but please let me know if there’s anything else either of you need from us. Take care.

          1. Thank you for your support and for the lovely comments. Katelyn said enjoy your weekend and she will see you Monday.

  2. Why did Boris Johnson walk around with one metre ruler in his left hand and a one metre ruler in his right hand?
He thought it was essential to keep two metres apart

  3. Good Morning,
Mrs Gillett asked us to try to resend Slater’s video as MP4 – i think ive done it now i sent it via the school cloud.
    Thanks

    1. Hi Jack! I think that there will be a lot of excitement and it will be lovely atmosphere in school I’m sure. Don’t worry about your book; just bring in any the work you’ve done however works best.

    1. Hi Mitchell! I completely understand, but I know you can do it. It’s not for too long, which means we can count down the days 🙂
