Today is the day we announce our Virtual School Hillstone Star!!

This week we have chosen PRESTON GRIFFITHS for his fantastic attendance and taking his interest in The Great Fire of London to the next level by watching extra videos and investigating to find out more.

Well done, Preston!

It was really tough choosing our first Virtual Hillstone Star this week as we had so many great pieces of work in.

Make sure you check in with us every day and send us your work…Our next Hillstone Star could be you!!

Follow Joe’s live workout this morning by clicking here.

Click the link below to watch the video. For today’s lesson you can follow the video with your worksheets if you want to print them before we start.

You do not have to print the sheet, the video will also show you how to set out the work in your Hillstone Virtual School book.

  • If you were with Mrs King or Mrs Evans then watch Video 1

For today’s English lesson we’d like you to use your text map to help you to retell the story of The Great Fire of London. This time you won’t draw any pictures, you are simply showing us your best writing (including handwriting!)

Use your sound charts below to help you to really focus on making this piece fantastic. Make sure you can read your own work back, you might want to record yourself retelling the story of The Great Fire of London!

Challenge: See if you can find the right place to use any exclamation marks.

We’re also learning to count in our 2s, 5s, and 10s.

Click the picture on the left to play Hit the Button – press times tables – tables up to 10 – choose x 2, x 5 or x 10.

Click the picture below to follow the drama activities from Bhav.

This week’s poetry activities are based on Bhav’s video ‘There Go the Feet’.

Join in with the dance routine below! You might want to watch it a few times so you can really perfect those moves!

    1. Hello, I’m pleased to hear that Mia has accessed the virtual school this morning. I hope you are all keeping well. Thank you for checking in with us. Enjoy the weekend πŸ™‚

        1. The day’s learning is usually updated first thing in the morning to allow everybody the chance to access the day. However, at the bottom of the day’s learning, there is a set of page numbers that you can click, these will take you to each day of learning. This will be accessible at any time during the whole week. When the week has finished, the week of learning will be on the main Year 1 Virtual Classroom page underneath the ‘Today’s lesson’ chalkboard. I hope this helps πŸ™‚

    1. I did see and I have just sent her Marvellous Me badges. The lesson for today was for them to retell the story of the Great Fire of London using their text map from yesterday. I hope that helps.

        1. Hello Ehtisham! That’s great! I would also recommend that if possible he keeps up with his RWI lessons. I did sit with him to look at his sounds on Tuesday and I can definitely see an improvement. He’s started to develop a lovely attitude to learning and I hope this is continuing at home for you!
