  1. Ella enjoyed PE today but didn’t enjoy shape game at all, will work on patterns more this evening. I have just sent in yesterday and today’s handwriting/ letter formation practice work sheets Ella has completed.

      1. Ella said thank you! I have been explaining patterns to Ella so she has better understanding and she played level 1 of the shape game brilliantly eventually. She has gone from guessing completely and not wanting to play to actually focussing on the shapes and colours and getting the answers correct. Took a bit of explaining and a lot of patience but we got there. Much better improvement now that I’m sat with her explaining it and she has managed level 1 quite well now so will try the other levels.

        1. Wonderful. Don’t worry too much about the levels beyond Level 1, some include shapes we have not covered and will be looked at in Year 2 πŸ™‚

  2. Forgot to check Ella in this morning so sorry! Been busy with work but lots more handwriting sheets done by Ella. She has also done a lot about shapes yesterday and today but that’s been verbally done around the house in the afternoons – finding shapes and colours and talking about how to sort and group items. She also has done speed sounds and reading too. Doing what we can with Ella to keep on top of school work whilst I work.

    1. Well done, Ella! That’s absolutely fine, sometimes practical is best! Thank you for your continued support. The maths and English lessons should now more often than not be introduced by a teacher or set up in a way that should allow her to work more independently πŸ™‚

    1. Mrs King would like you to complete the second half of your text map from yesterday. If you’ve already done this, you might want to put some actions to your text map ready for when we write it in full tomorrow.
Also, could we share Talia’s photo from this morning on the school’s Twitter? πŸ™‚

    1. The virtual school will work best if it fits in with you and your family. If now is the time that you start, then that is fine, no need for apologies for being late! Lovely to have you here again, Finlay πŸ™‚

    1. Good morning Jack and Mia! Your work yesterday was fantastic, well done!! Mia, I loved your London’s burning song. It was sang with so much confidence!

      1. Hi Miss young,

Just wondering what English work would you like jack and Mia to do today as they completed the work yesterday instead of just writing ideas down πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

        1. Hello! For today, it would be a good idea if they read back through their work to check that it makes sense and that they can read it back clearly. I would also encourage them to check their spellings to see if they’ve used the sounds they know from the sound chart. It may be a good idea to get them to use a different colour to make these changes. I hope that helps πŸ™‚

  3. Hi year one,

There has been a fabulous song uploaded to the cloud! Someone has been singing along to ‘London’s Burning’. If you uploaded that work can you leave a comment please so that I can send you a Marvellous Me.
    Thanks so much!
    Miss Langford
