This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. We have Wellbeing pages on our Virtual school, or you can click here to get to the page for ideas to help you.

Good news! We now have a place where you can send your work to us. When you finish a lesson, please take a photograph of it and submit by click on the ‘Super Work’ image below. Make sure your name is written on the work clearly. We look forward to seeing what you have done!

It’s Friday today! And our final math’s lesson of the week is always arithmetic. Today, we will focus on revising our addition skills. Watch my video below, pausing when I ask you to, to have a go at some addition in your workbook. Today’s main task is within the video rather than on a worksheet today. Give the final challenge a go, bur don’t worry if you find it tricky – it is a challenge!

There is a game to play below my video if you would like further practice. Complete the addition in you workbook. And finally, if you feel you need to practise your adding of single digit numbers instead this week, click on the task below the game.

If you feel you need to practise adding lower numbers, rather than tackling the column addition, click on the robot game. There is a number line included to help you.

And finally, spend 10 minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars! We’ll check the stats online and let you know if you’re topping the year 2 leader board!

These are suggested activities for your RWI group. Please feel free to try some of the other activities listed too.

PINK/ORANGE Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words

YELLOW Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words

BLUE/GREY Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words, Reading Longer Words and Hold a Sentence.

OFF RWI GROUP Today you are going to plan your own version of The Queen’s Handbag . You are only planning it today as you have next week to write it. You might find a copy of the original text useful to write on and change. Follow the instruction video below to help you plan.

You will find your own version of the planning sheet here, which you can use as you go through the video. Make sure you keep your copy of the planning to use on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Carry on with your daily reading by choosing a book (at the right stage for your child) from the Oxford Owl library. This is the link to the information you need to access Oxford Owl. Once you are onto the website you can choose a book at your RWI phonics level OR from your book band level.

We now also have our VIRTUAL LIBRARY page. Here you have access to a range of other texts to read.

Click here to see a range of ideas for questions you can ask your child about the text they are reading.

Click on the ‘Topic’ sign above to see today’s topic lessons.

The final story for this week is read by Mrs Alexander. It’s called ‘Five Minutes Peace’ by Jill Murphy.
