Short TED Talk Video: “The secret to giving great feedback ...

Feedback from yesterday would be to remember that the more varied the adjectives and noun phrases, the more persuasive and interesting your writing about Roman city life will be. There were lots of fun, good, nice, busy, and louds used to describe Roman life in the city. You can be more imaginative than that! Some of the star adjectives that wowed me were; vibrant, bustling and bursting with life to describe the markets and therapeutic, heavenly and relaxing to describe the Roman Baths.

Today we write! 2-3 paragraphs telling Maximus how amazing Domus’ are and then how much fun Roman cities are in Britain. Enjoy the topic lesson to learn about delicious Roman food.

REMEMBER you are telling him how wonderful the city is. IN Roman cities in Britain, they would have baths, markets selling Roman food and drink and amphitheatres where gladiators would fight. We want to Persuade him that moving to Britain is a good idea.

Feedback from yesterday’s lesson is to be careful with those angles that are just a little bit smaller or larger than a right angle. Lots of children for Q.1 thought that (f) was a right angle when in fact it was smaller than a right angle. Don’t let them trick you!

Arithmetic- When using the short column method for multiplication, always remember to add that newbie onto the answer at the end. There were lots of newbies being forgotten yesterday which made some of your answers incorrect
– especially for those questions where the answer was over 100 (46×3, 34×3).

Today, we are going to be comparing angles. You will need your right angle tester that you made handy, so go and find that now. We are going to be looking at two new types of angles. ‘Acute’ and ‘obtuse’ angles. You will find out what these words mean today and also how to find those two types of angles. There will be some video clips for you to watch to help you along the way.

Any questions, just pop into the comment box and we will help you. Enjoy!

Guided Reading

Short TED Talk Video: “The secret to giving great feedback ...

There were some great predictions yesterday. Just be careful to use the clues in the text to base your predictions on rather than just guess. For example one of the questions was ‘where do you think the family are going?’. Some answers were to the park to play or to the sandpit… remember the text stated they were going to dad’s favourite place not the children’s.

Join me today for lesson 3 of guided reading this week. We will be looking at the similarities and differences in the 3 parts of the story. Listen to the story before the lesson so that you remember all the events that happen. Remember to submit your work afterwards for me to look at.

Topic: Remarkable Romans!

In topic today we are going to look at the different foods that the Ancient Romans would have eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Watch the video before the lesson about Roman food and don’t forget at the end there is a really interesting but gross video all about the Roman Vomitorium… Yes it was a real thing!

Its time to move! What could you do today to be active? You could go on a walk, go for a run, ride your bike or dance to your favourite song. If you are struggling for sometime fun to do, click here for one of coaches fun activities.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the story!

I originally chose and recorded this video at the start of last week, as you may have seen in the news recently, that Sir Tom Moore had been in the hospital. Unfortunately, he passed on away on Tuesday. So this is now in memory of him. This is a story about his life and the wonderful things he did for our country and more recently, our NHS. I hope that you enjoy it. My daughter Ivy-Rose will make an appearance today so apologies for the minor interruptions. (she didn’t quite understand that she couldn’t actually see you.)

We hope that you enjoyed today’s lessons, we look forward to seeing all of your work. Have a relaxing evening and we will see you tomorrow.
