Hello and welcome to Tuesday’s writing lesson. Today we will write the the first section of the story ONLY. Below are the boards for the lesson so read through them and do the tasks as if you were in school. There is a short video above to help guide you through. Finish writing when the twins are left in the river. Use your story map to help you.

1. Use detail today to describe the character you created a description for last week. Adjectives and adverbials. Caring and kind Rhea quietly did as her evil uncle ordered to make sure her sons would survive.

2. Leave the audience wanting more by using suspense. Will the twins survive? Is this the end? What will happen to the defenceless and helpless babies.

3. Don’t forget to use past tense in your writing. The King lived a long time ago. The boys floated down the river. It was a dark day when they brothers started to fight.

4. STOP AT THE BOYS BEING PUT IN THE RIVER AND THEY FLOAT AWAY.

Mrs Parr’s RWI group use the support sheets below to give you some visual support and a word bank.
