Feedback from yesterday: You understood perpendicular lines well yesterday. You knew that they were where two lines that met at a right angle and you used your right angle checkers well to identify these. Remember, when using the letters to identify a line, you need to use both letter. Where it starts and where it ends.

Today, we will be continuing our work on lines. We will be looking at a new line type today. So far we have explored horizontal lines, vertical lines and perpendicular lines. Today we will learn about parallel lines. Watch the lesson video and complete the worksheets below. If you are confused, not to worry, there is an extra support video that will go back through what parallel lines are and help you a little bit more.

Guided Reading

Short TED Talk Video: “The secret to giving great feedback ...

Feedback from yesterday: I really enjoyed looking through your predictions yesterday. As always, make sure that you back up your prediction with clues from the text. What have you read that makes you think what you think? Some of your titles were great too! We know it starts ‘The Boy who…’ I really liked ‘The Boy who liked to build’ and ‘The Boy who loved Sandcastles’ I thought they were really good predictions.

We are continuing with our mystery story today. We will find out if our predictions from yesterday’s lesson were correct or close. We will then read the next part of the story and make a new prediction. Get ready to look for clues reading detectives. Watch Mrs Edwards read part 2 of the story below.
