Year 2 Week beginning 22nd February

Wednesday 24th February

Good news! We now have a place where you can send your work to us. When you finish a lesson, please take a photograph of it and submit by click on the ‘Super Work’ image below. Make sure your name is written on the work clearly. We look forward to seeing what you have done today!

We’ll be exploring our symmetry through art today! Time to get creative…

There is no suggested timing for today’s lesson. Take as long as you like to create your picture.

For the animal templates, click here.

If you’d prefer to work electronically, click below for the paint game explained in the video.

If you’d prefer to work practically when getting creative today, see below for some inspiration. Send in a photograph of how you have used items around your home (or garden) to create your symmetrical picture. We can’t wait to see your wonderful creations!

And finally, as it’s Wednesday, spend 10 minutes on Times Table Rock Stars.

These are the suggested activities for your RWI group, however, you can have a go at any of the activities listed below.

PINK/ORANGE Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling.

YELLOW Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling.

BLUE/GREY Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling.

ALL GROUPS – watch the story of Katie In London. Pause the video every so often so that you can have a go at reading the text on the screen.

OFF RWI GROUP (suggested timing – 40 minutes). Read through the pages of text on screen and answer the questions. You can either print the sheet of questions here, or work from the screen, writing your answers in your workbook. The video below will take you through the questions.

Here are the answers for you to self-mark and tick OR fix. Remember, our best learning comes when we look back at where we may have gone wrong and think about how to change our answers.

ALL GROUPS – Spend a few minutes today practising these joins. Do a little each day so that you are used to how your pencil moves across the page with these joins and words.

We now have our VIRTUAL LIBRARY page. Here you have access to a range of other texts to read. You can choose from fiction or non-fiction, but choose wisely from the selection and enjoy what you are reading!

Click here to see a range of ideas for questions you can ask your child about the text they are reading.

Click on the ‘Topic’ sign above for today’s topic lessons.

  2. Hi, I have just uploaded todays work but have realised thier names are not on the story boards. Lukes has a green border and Leias has a pink border. Thanks

  3. Hi Mrs Driver, I have sent Moutasim’s maths, English and topic video and pictures. I have also included Tuesdays work as well. Moutasim finds the yoga more calming than the meditation and asking why was the blue frog sad? And why didn’t he talk earlier? And then concluded all he wanted was a friend because he was lonely.
