Year 2 Week beginning 11th January

Tuesday 12th January

Good news! We now have a place where you can send your work to us. When you finish a lesson, please take a photograph of it and submit by click on the ‘Super Work’ image below. Make sure your name is written on the work clearly. We look forward to seeing what you have done!

Click here to share your work with us.

Let’s have another go at counting money before today’s main task. Click on the piggy bank, then ‘Counting’ and then ‘Any 4 coins.’ Spend around 10 minutes (or as long as you’d like!) on this.

Now watch my video to explore today’s learning. We are making given amounts of money , so it may be an idea for you to have some coins at hand again to help you.

And finally, have a go a this worksheet. Remember to upload your work for a Marvellous Me!

Today you are going to be reading a fact file about the Queen. The same fact file will be used tomorrow to answer some questions. Use the glossary for any words you are unsure of or use a dictionary or ask a grown up to help you!

Activity 1. Read these sheets about the Queen. Do your best with some of the new and unfamiliar vocabulary.

Activity 2. You might like to look at this comic – it’s a very different way of presenting facts!

This is part 1 of how to add -ing to a verb. You will need a workbook to write in.

Carry on with your daily reading by choosing a book (at the right stage for your child) from the Oxford Owl library. This is the link to the information you need to access Oxford Owl. Once you are onto the website you can choose a book at your RWI phonics level OR from your book band level.

Click here to see a range of ideas for questions you can ask your child about the text they are reading.

Click on the ‘Topic’ sign above for today’s topic lessons.

Today’s story is read by Miss Perks. It’s called ‘The Wild Girl’ by Chris Wormell. We hope you enjoy it!

  1. Good afternoon year two,

I have just received some work with no name on. There is a fact file on Florence Nightingale and a fortune teller. Please let me know if it is yours!
    Thanks
    Miss Langford
