It’s Friday today! And our final maths lesson of the week is always arithmetic. Today, we will focus on adding 10 to a given number. Watch my video below, pausing when I ask you to, to have a go at some addition in your workbook. Today’s main task is within the video rather than on a worksheet today.

You may find this 100 square useful. If you can’t print it, don’t worry, as I include one in the video too. Suggested timing – 40minutes.

Click on the game below if you’d like to keep practising without a 100 square.

And finally, spend 10 minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars. Well done for spending any time on TTRS this week. See if you’ve topped this week’s leaderboard chart below…

These are suggested activities for your RWI group. Please feel free to try some of the other activities listed too.

PINK/ORANGE Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words and Hold A Sentence. Take a short break between each video.

YELLOW Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words and Reading Longer Words. Take a short break between each video.

BLUE/GREY Speed sound reading and Speed sound spelling. You can also try Red Words, Reading Longer Words and Hold a Sentence. Take a short break between each video.

OFF RWI GROUP (suggested timing – 40 minutes, using the video, with short breaks) We have read four different stories about the Queen. You may have enjoyed some of them, all of them or none of them! We would like you to compare them. Use the instruction video to help you with this task. You may want to print this sheet, or write directly into your workbook.

We now also have our VIRTUAL LIBRARY page. Here you have access to a range of other texts to read. Don’t forget, you can always access this page at the weekend too and there is a huge range of different books you can enjoy on your own, or with a family member.

PARENTS/CARERS Click here to see a range of ideas for questions you can ask your child about the text they are reading.

Click on the ‘Topic’ sign above to see today’s topic lessons.

The final story for this week is ‘The Hedgehog’s Balloon’ by Nick Butterworth.
